INSTANT COCONUT LADOO

This easy and fast to make famous indian sweet recipe or indianladdu is typically prepared during festival seasons as offering especially during diwali, ganeshchaturthi and navarathri.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Cup Coconut Powder
  • 3 Tbsp. Clarified Butter
  • 2 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Milk Powder
  • Coat with Coconut Powder

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Firstly, in a large kadai take 2 Tbsp of ghee and once its heated add 2 cups coconut powder (fresh / desiccated).
  2. Roast on low flame for sometime and then add 1 ½ cup milk to it
  3. Mix well making sure the coconut gets wet completely.
  4. Now add 1 cup sugar and mix continuously keeping the flame on low.
  5. Mix it till sugar melts and add 1 Tbsp ghee while stirring and keeping the flame on low.
  6. Here you can add ½ cup milk powder milk, its optional, this just adds to the taste
  7. Add ½ cup of milk again and stir till it starts to evaporate and mixture turns crumbly.
  8. Cool the mixture for 10 minutes
  9. Prepare small balls to form ladoo.
  10. Roll it with desiccated coconut. This is optional, however makes ladoo more attractive.
  11. Finally, serve coconut ladoo or store in a airtight container for a week

Some quick tips

  1. Nariyalladoo can also be prepared with milkmaid, koya and even with simple sugar syrup.
  2. Have desiccated coconut to prepare this ladoo, however fresh grated coconut can also be used. If fresh coconut is used, make sure to dry roast them before adding milk.
  3. Prepare the ladoos in low flame as the milk and coconut might burn on high flame.
  4. Instead of sugar, jaggery or brown sugar can also be used, with jaggery the colour of coconut laddu would be brown in colour though.
