Homemade Tutti Frutti

Tutti frutti is a colorful confectionery containing various chopped and usually candied fruits, or an artificial or natural flavouring simulating the combined flavour of many different fruits.

Ingredients:

  • watermelon rind
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup water

Steps to prepare:

  • Take some watermelon rind and wash it properly
  • Peel the outer cover and cut it into smaller pieces (Check video)
  • Take a pan, pour some water and boil the pieces for 15-20 mins on medium flame
  • Once the pieces turn transparent, drain the water and keep the pieces aside
  • Put half cup sugar in pan with 1-cup water and boil it
  • Add tutti fruity pieces in it and cook for 10 mins on medium flame
  • When sugar quantity decreases to half, turn off the flame and let it cool
  • Divide the quantity in 3 portions
  • Add different colors to different portions
  • Let it rest for 12 hours to absorp the color and sugar nicely
  • After 12 hrs, sieve the sugar syrup apart and transfer the tutti fruity in a plate with a tissue

Let it dry in a fan for 12 hrs and TUTTI FRUITY is ready!
