Soft layered paratha

Basically, a multi layered Indian flat bread prepared with wheat and plain flour. This multi-layered paratha is super soft and tasty option to have in lunch or dinner.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 egg
  • Clarified butter (ghee)

INSTRUCTIONS

Dough recipe:

  1. Firstly, in a large mixing bowl, take # cups maida/ll purpose floor
  2. Additionally, add 1 tsp salt and one egg
  3. Furthermore, crumble well with your hands,
  4. Now add water slowly and start to knead.
  5. Knead to smooth and soft dough.
  6. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Paratha recipe:

2 ways of making paratha have been shared. Follow whichever you find easy. The result will be the same

  1. Firstly, pinch a large sized ball dough, roll and flatten it.
  2. Also dust with some wheat flour.
  3. Furthermore, roll it into a thin circle as of chapathi. Roll as thin as possible.
  4. Grease the paratha with butter/ghee oil and sprinkle all purpose floor over it.

1st option

  • Cut from the middle and start creating pleats by folding with the help of fingers
  • Begin to roll the pleated dough like a swiss roll.
  • Furthermore, secure the end by pressing gently.

2nd option

  • Roll a long/rectangle shaped paratha
  • Roll it from its length
  • And roll it to form a wheel shaped ball
  • Refrigerate it for 15 minutes to settle down
  • Take the rolled ball and dust with some wheat flour
  • And start rolling to a thin circle.
  • Take chapati tawa, heat it and place the rolled paratha.
  • After a minute flip off and cook the other side.
  • Cook on medium flame
  • Once the golden-brown spots start appearing on both sides grease with oil.
  • Furthermore, flip and roast both sides.
  • Then crush the paratha to form layers.
  • Serve them immediately with curry of your choice.

Some quick tips

  • Knead the dough well till its smooth and soft
  • Prepare paratha with just wheat flour for more healthy diet
  • Sprinkle some chat masala along with wheat flour for more flavours
  • Finally, roast the paratha on medium flame to cook completely
