Pav Bhaji

Pav bhaji is an Indian fast-food dish consisting of a thick vegetable curry served with a soft bread roll. Vegetables in the curry may include potatoes, onions, carrots, and tomatoes. Its origins are in the state of Maharashtra

Ingredients:

  • 2 mashed potatoes
  • Some chopped capsicum
  • Some chopped carrot
  • Half Lemon
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • Some chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cumin seed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilly
  • 1 tsp Haldi
  • 2 tsp Pav bhaji masala
  • 2 tsp kasuri methi
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 pinch of food color (optional)

For Pav

  • 1 tsp butter
  • ½ red chilly powder
  • ½ pav bhaji masala
  • Few coriander leaves
  • 4 Pav

Steps to prepare:

  • Prepare a pan and put 1 tsp butter
  • Add 1 tsp cumin and roast it for a while
  • Add chopped onion, capsicum, carrot, tomato and saute it for a while
  • Add salt to taste
  • Add mashed potatoes and mix it well
  • Add some water and cook on medium flame for 5-6 mins
  • Once cooked, mash it with masher
  • Add 1 tsp of Kashmir chilly powder, 1 tsp haldi and 1 tsp Pav bhaji masala
  • Add coriander leaves and 1 tsp kasuri methi over the top
  • Now add 1 tsp butter, 1 tsp kasuri methi, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, ½ lemon and mix it well
  • On top, add some coriander and add water as you want to prepare the gravy
  • Mash it well and add butter if you want

Steps to prepare Pav:

  • Take a pan and heat it
  • Put 1 tsp butter
  • ½ tsp red chilly and 1/2 tsp pav bhaji masala
  • Take the pav and slit it in two-halves
  • Put it in pan and toast it with other ingredients
  • Toast on both the sides
